Leo Dote is a Safety Instructor and was once the Acting Head of Risk Assessment Section of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Department, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). He has been with HMC since 2004. He is a member of the Corporate Facility Management and Safety Committee and is deeply involved in the review and formulation of various facility management and safety-related programs, policies, and procedures. He is also a member of the Program Advisory Committee of the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Program, School of Health Sciences, University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST). Leo is a Fellow in the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM). He also played a vital role during the FIFA Qatar 2022 where he served as the Technical Focal Person for Medical Waste Management and was involved in formulating medical waste operational policy, training, and technical operation resulting the a great minimization of healthcare risk waste generation.
Leo is going to talk about experiences and lessons learned in facility risk and safety management particularly in the implementation and monitoring of compliance to risk and safety policies, how it can contribute to improving operational success, gap minimization or widening, and how to transform healthcare facility management and safety into a more risk-aware community adopting best international risk practices, principles, framework and processes.
