Dr. Ali Toffaha is a senior colorectal surgery fellow at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC)
A top graduate of An-Najah National University, he completed his internship in Palestine before joining HMC's General Surgery Residency. Over five years of training, he scored in the 99th percentile on the American Board of Surgery In-Training Examination (ABSITE) and gained wide experience in complex gastrointestinal and oncologic surgery.
His awards include first place in the ACS Surgical Jeopardy Contest (Kuwait), one of the best Innovative Research Idea (Qatar), Best Case Presentation (Austria), Academic Excellence and Medical Education Award (HMC), and Best International Abstract (Oncosurgpal22, Palestine). He was also awarded as Best Surgical Resident in HMC.
Dr. Toffaha achieved the highest score in the Arab Board General Surgery Exam and passed the European Board Exam in Coloproctology. He focuses on colorectal surgery, research, and medical education. has many publications in Q1 peer-reviewed journals and presented his work at major international conferences across the USA, Europe, and Middle East. He also lectures at Qatar University, and serves as Director of the Basic Surgical Skills Course.
