Dr. Nasser Alsanea, MBBCh, FASCRS (Hon.)
Professor of Colon and Rectal Surgery
Dr. Nasser Alsanea is a distinguished Professor of Colon and Rectal Surgery and currently serves as the Director General of Health Affairs at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. He led the Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh from 2000 to 2020.
He holds the honorary fellowship of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery and is the Editor-in-Chief of both the World Journal of Colorectal Surgery and the Annals of Saudi Medicine. Dr. Alsanea is Vice-President of the International Society of University Colon and Rectal Surgeons (Middle East), former President of the Saudi Society of Colon & Rectal Surgery (2008–2018), former Chairman of the Saudi Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery (2008–2016), and former Director of the Saudi Registry of Hereditary Colorectal Tumors (2008–2020).
A prolific author, Dr. Alsanea has published over 100 scientific papers, with an H-index of 25 and more than 2,000 citations, reflecting his significant contributions to colorectal surgery research and practice.
