Senior Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at HMC.

Graduated from Medical University of Tripoli Libya 1990. Trained in General and Colorectal surgery in UK, including Subspecialist Colorectal training in the John Goligher Colorectal Surgery Unit of Leeds General Infirmary. Completed Basic surgical training rotation, Research Fellowship and Higher Surgical Training leading to the award of CCT. Obtained MSc in Surgery from the Imperial College School of Medicine of London University, and a degree in Medical Education from Leeds University. Obtained the FRCS (Gen) with Colorectal Accreditation from the Intercollegiate Board of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons, UK.

Practiced as a substantive Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon in UK before joining HMC in June of 2013. His clinical interests include minimally invasive colorectal surgery, including trans-anal approach (TAMIS); colorectal cancer, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and GI Endoscopy. His research interests include molecular biology of Colorectal Cancer invasion, surgical management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease and management of Colonic Diverticular Disease, with many peer-reviewed publications pertinent to those facets of clinical practice.

He is a clinical Professor of Surgery at the College of Medicine, Qatar University since 2024. He continues to be an invited editor for the Libyan Journal of Medicine (LJM), and reviewer for several peer reviewed journals in Surgery.
