Description:
Improvement Leadership Program (ILP) is a flagship leadership development initiative designed to transform mid-level managers into strategic improvement leaders and system-wide change agents.
Aligned with HHQI’s capability-building strategy and Hamad Medical Corporation quality priorities, this nine-month experiential journey equips leaders with the mindset, methodology, and influence required to:
- Drive innovation and improvement initiatives
- Lead high-impact, multidisciplinary teams
- Accelerate collaboration across functions
- Spread and scale best practices system-wide
- Strengthen HHQI/HMC’s quality ecosystem
ILP bridges leadership and improvement science—ensuring participants not only understand improvement concepts but can apply them to achieve measurable, sustainable results.
Outline:
A carefully designed
9-months blended learning journey integrating theory, application, and peer learning.
Three Thematic Modules

Each module includes:
- One
2-day in-person workshop
- Three
interactive virtual webinars
- Two
guided face-to-face group discussions and reflective learning sessions
This structured progression enables participants to build competence, apply learning in real time, and deepen leadership impact.
Program Curriculum:
Curriculum Framework - The curriculum integrates three core dimensions:
- Improvement Concepts & Approaches (I)
- Leadership Behaviors (L)
- People & Culture (P)
This balanced focus ensures leaders are equipped to influence systems, inspire teams, and deliver measurable improvement.
Target Audience: Mid-level managers within HMC functional domains with
3–5 years of managerial experience, including:
- Clinical Operations
- Administration
- Quality & Patient Safety
- Education & Training
- Other functional domains
Selection Criteria:
Prerequisite: Certification in foundational Quality Improvement training covering:
- Model for Improvement
- System of Profound Knowledge (Deming’s principles)
Acceptable Proof:
- HHQI FQIC (Mandatory)
- HHQI IQIC (Preferred)
- IHI Open School – 13 Basic Courses (Preferred)
Course Length: 8 to 10 months with the following timeline
CPD: Category 1 DHP Accredited
