Description:

The Improvement Specialist Program is designed to expand the capacity for improvement in organizations by developing healthcare leaders and quality professionals as Improvement Specialists who get results and are able to advise, develop and lead the improvement strategies of their organization. The curriculum is designed for health care professionals who are familiar with the quality Improvement science and are leaders for improvement. Participants will have a major portion of their work focused on improvement and will work strategically with senior leadership and Improvement Advisors and Improvement Coaches in their organizations.

Target Audience: HMC Staff meeting the selection criteria

Selection Criteria:

  1. Must have completed the Fundamentals of Quality Improvement Course (FQIC) AND Intermediate Quality Improvement Course (IQIC) or Clinical Care Improvement Training Program (CCITP)
  2. Graduate of any of the following IHI / HHQI Courses such as the Improvement Leadership Program (ILP), Improvement Coach Program (ICP) and High-Performing Organizations Program (HPOP)
  3. An improvement project that he will work on during the duration of the program
  4. Proficient in MS Excel and/or SPC software

Course Length: The course will run for 12 months.
