Abdul Waheed Khan

Dr Abdul Waheed Khan is a psychiatrist and Head of the Inpatient Psychiatric Rehabilitation Unit at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar, with extensive experience across clinical, research, and academic domains. He has led multiple initiatives to enhance patient-centred care, including community excursions, sports-event visits, and other social-integration activities that promote recovery and well-being. He has also played a key role in providing mental-health support to Afghan refugees transiting through Qatar. Deeply committed to teaching and academic development, Dr Khan serves as the site coordinator for medical student clerkships in inpatient rehabilitation. His research and professional interests focus on clinical innovation, molecular psychiatry, and the integration of artificial intelligence into mental-health services to advance personalized and evidence-based psychiatric care.
