Dr. Moza Al Kowari
Dr. Moza Khalifa Al-Kowari is a leading clinical scientist in the field of genomic medicine and currently serves as Deputy Head of the Molecular Genetics Section at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). She leads groundbreaking initiatives in clinical whole exome sequencing validation and the advancement of molecular diagnostics. With over 15 years of experience in research and diagnostic laboratories, her expertise spans inherited rare diseases, hereditary cancer, and the implementation of advanced genomic technologies.
Dr. Al-Kowari holds a PhD in Biological and Biomedical sciences from Hamad Bin Khalifa University and is a graduate of the prestigious Executive Leadership Program at Qatar Leadership Center. Her academic background also includes a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences from Qatar University and a Clinical Audiology Diploma from the University of Toronto.
She has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator on several national research initiatives, leading high-impact studies in hearing loss, and cancer genomics during her time at Sidra Medicine and the Qatar Biomedical Research Institute. A frequent contributor to international conferences and peer-reviewed journals, she is deeply committed to translating genomic research into clinical solutions and shaping healthcare policy.
Beyond her scientific work, Dr. Al-Kowari is passionate about mentorship, education, and developing strategies to integrate precision medicine into national healthcare systems. She also serves as a mentor in the Murshid Program for Academic and Career Mentoring at Qatar National Library, supporting the next generation of scientists and healthcare professionals.
