Dr. Reem Al-Sulaiman, Chair of Medical Genetics, Senior Consultant, Genetic Counselling, Oncology, Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar 

Dr. Reem Al-Sulaiman is the Chairman of the Medical Genetics Department at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and is an American board-certified Sr. Consultant Genetic Counsellor in Medical Oncology and a core member at the cancer genetics and high-risk program at the National Center for Cancer Care and Research at HMC. 

She is also the Vice President of the Qatar Network of Medical Genetics and assistant chair of the Doha-Heidelberg Rare Disease MDT and Research Committee. She is a core member of the Qatar Precision Health Institute (QPHI). 
In addition to her clinical and leadership roles, Dr. Al-Sulaiman is also an Assistant Professor at Qatar University’s national genetic counselling program.

Dr. Al-Sulaiman completed her clinical training and fellowship in genetic counselling at the Sarah Lawrence College in New York, with a special interest in cancer genetics. She was trained in multiple prestigious institutions in New York including Memorial Sloan Kettering, New York Presbyterian and Columbia Medical Centre. She then earned a certification from the American Board of Genetic Counselling (ABGC) and became the first Qatari board-certified genetic counsellor in the country.

Dr. Al-Sulaiman also received her second Master’s degree in cancer therapeutics and achieved her PhD in cancer counselling and psychotherapy from University of Wales, Regents College in London. Her research was honoured as one of the 100 breakthroughs in the UK in 2018. 

Dr. Al-Sulaiman has multiple prestigious publications in high impact factor journals in the field of paediatrics and adult clinical genetics with special interest in cancer and rare disorders.​
