Dr. Honar has completed his residency and fellowship at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden, and earned his PhD in Infection Complications in Patients Treated for Hematological Malignancies.
His main research interests include infectious complications, vaccination, thrombocytopenia, and myelodysplastic syndromes. He was given the position of Associate Professor at Uppsala University, Sweden, and for under ten years, he worked as a Senior Consultant and Head of Hematology at Uppsala University Hospital. He was elected to this position, along with other national positions, as an executive board member in The Swedish Hematology Association,
The Swedish National Reference Group for Antimycotics, and The Ethical Committee. Dr. Honar is today Chief of Hematology at Hamad Medical Corporation and honorary Professor of Hematology at Qatar University.
