
Lydia Scarfò
Dr. Lydia Scarfò received her degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Ferrara in 2006, specializing in Hematology in 2012 and Internal Medicine in 2017. In 2012, she moved to IRCC Ospedale San Raffaele, Milano, Italy, where she is now an assistant professor in Internal Medicine at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele.
She is involved in the CLL outpatient clinic (Strategic Research Program on CLL), which is dedicated to managing and treating CLL patients, including designing and conducting clinical trials. She is actively participating in preclinical and clinical studies and is currently co-investigating over 20 clinical trials in CLL and related disorders, including phase 1 studies.
Dr. Scarfo is the principal investigator in observational studies focusing on quality of life in patients with CLL treated with novel agents and in one interventional trial based on a chemo-free approach in hairy cell leukemia (HCL). She completed the Clinical Research Training in Hematology (CRTH) from 2016 to 2017 and was promoted by the European Hematology Association (EHA). Her research focuses on managing B cell lymphoproliferative disorders by better understanding their pathogenetic mechanisms.
