Professor Ibrahim Janahi
Professor Ibrahim Janahi is the Chair of Medical Education at Sidra Medicine and the Division Chief of Pulmonology at Sidra Medicine, overseeing all medical education programs. This includes the coordination of undergraduate and graduate medical training, monitoring the Continuous Medical Education (CME), and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of senior medical staff.
With a rich clinical expertise in interventional pulmonology and chronic lung diseases with a genetic basis, Prof. Janahi is committed to advancing medical research with a particular interest in primary ciliary dyskinesia, pulmonary hypertension in children, and genetic basis of lung diseases and non-invasive monitoring of airway inflammation. His notable accomplishments include establishing the pediatric pulmonology section at Hamad Medical Corporation (2001) and directing the pediatric emergency center (2001-2008).
In addition to his role at Sidra Medicine, Prof. Janahi is a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill-Cornell Medicine in Qatar, Executive Director of Medical Research at HMC, Chairman of the National Permanent Licensing Committee in Qatar, founder, and president of the Gulf Society for Pediatric Respiratory, and a founding member of the Arab Pediatric Pulmonology Association (APPA).
His extensive involvement in exam committees and as an examiner for various certifying boards reflects his dedication to advancing medical education and research.
