Ayan Mohamed Ahmed Shire is a licensed healthcare leader with over 15 years of experience in shaping integrated health systems across Qatar, the UK, and internationally. She holds a master's degree in health and public service management and is currently pursuing her PhD.
Specializing as a subject matter expert in mental health nursing, workforce optimization, service redesign, quality improvement, and change management, she combines academic knowledge with practical expertise in healthcare leadership.
Her career highlights include the commissioning of Qatar's first culturally tailored residential treatment facilities, the integration of Mental Health Services at Hamad Medical Corporation with Primary Healthcare Corporation clinics, a pivotal role in the initial inception of the National Insurance Project, addressing systemic challenges affecting patient care and safety, and facilitating the development of sustainable and efficient healthcare frameworks.
Currently, she serves as the Director of Nursing at Hamad Medical Corporation-Mental Health Services, where she leads nursing workforce transformation, governance, and service redesign to build resilient, sustainable, and patient-centered healthcare systems.
