
Dr. Jihene Maatoug
Dr. Jihene Maatoug is a Professor of Community and Preventive Medicine, bringing over 15 years of academic and research experience to her role. She serves as a consultant and core faculty member in the residency training program at Qatar's Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), where she plays a vital role in advancing education and mentoring residents in research. Dr. Maatoug was instrumental in enhancing the program, which led to its successful ACGME-I accreditation in 2023.
Her primary research activities concentrate on the prevention and management of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). She has both led and participated in community-based and primary care interventions aimed at improving outcomes for chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, in Tunisia. Currently, she is involved in numerous research projects focused on NCD prevention and actively encourages resident-led research initiatives in Qatar.
