Professor Majid Ali Al Abdulla
Professor Majid Ali Al Abdulla is a senior consultant and chairman of psychiatry at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Qatar's leading specialist healthcare provider. He holds a faculty appointment as professor at the College of Medicine, Qatar University, where he also serves as psychiatry clerkship director and chairs the External Advisory Group for the Global Mental Health Summit 2025.
Professor Al Abdulla has played a pivotal role in national and international mental health initiatives, contributing to Qatar's Mental Health Law and the development and implementation of the National Mental Health Strategy. He represents Qatar at the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office and the GCC Mental Health Council, serving as the WHO focal point for mental health and addiction. He has advanced mental health services in Qatar, including establishing a comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation program for substance use disorders.
With nearly two decades of research experience, he has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles, holds an h-index of 20 on Google Scholar, and has held leadership roles within the Qatari Board of Psychiatry.
