Dr. Aisha Abeid is a highly accomplished medical doctor and public health professional specializing in pediatrics and injury prevention. Currently serving as the Assistant Director of the Hamad Injury Prevention Program (HIPP) at the Hamad Trauma Center, Hamad Medical Corporation in Doha, Qatar, Dr. Abeid plays a pivotal role in advancing road safety education and prevention in order to actively reduce traffic-related injuries across the country.
With a strong background in pediatrics, Dr. Abeid integrates her medical expertise to develop comprehensive injury prevention strategies for all age groups. She collaborates closely with Qatar University’s Transportation and Traffic Safety Center in many impactful road safety workshops, fostering safer communities for youth and all road users. Renowned for her exceptional public speaking skills, Dr. Abeid has led numerous workshops and seminars nationwide, effectively raising awareness and educating diverse audiences on road safety and injury prevention.
Dr. Abeid oversees major initiatives such as the World Day of Remembrance of Traffic Victims, Gulf Traffic Weeks, and Global Road Safety Events, working in partnership with the National Traffic Safety Committee of the Ministry of Interior. Her leadership extends to Off Road ATV Safety, Motorcycle Delivery Driver (MDD) Safety, Work Place Injury Unified Registry Qatar (WUR-Q) project, where she focuses on data evaluation and quality improvement to enhance injury prevention efforts.
An active member of the MOPH Road Safety Task Force and the MOPH Development Group for Injury Prevention Guidelines, Dr. Abeid contributes to shaping national policies and strategies. Assists in development of safety standards in collaboration with relevant government agencies, non-government agencies.
