Mrs. Wahida Ghalayini is a distinguished healthcare professional with a rich career dedicated to nursing leadership and public health administration. She holds a Maîtrise Degree in Nursing Sciences from Saint Joseph University and a Master’s Degree in Hospital Administration from the École Supérieure des Affaires (ESA).

Starting from the mid-1990s till March 2025, Mrs. Ghalayini served as Instructor in the Lebanese Red Cross for the BS Nursing, and Head of the Nursing Department at several institutions (Middle East Hospital, Mount Lebanon Hospital, Life Health Management and Rafik Hariri University Hospital), where she played a pivotal role in advancing nursing practices and improving patient care. Currently, she is the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs at Makassed University of Beirut (MUB), plays a critical role in supporting MUB’s mission by providing strategic leadership and oversight of administrative and financial operations. In parallel, she manages the Public Health Emergency Operating Center (PHEOC) at the Ministry of Public Health, underscoring her commitment to national health resilience and emergency preparedness.
Her outstanding contributions have earned her several prestigious recognitions. In 2019, she was awarded the Florence Nightingale Award by the International Committee of the Red Cross- Geneva. In 2022, she received the "Prix de Reconnaissance" (Recognition Award) from the International Secretariat of French-speaking Nurses (SIDIIEF) - Canada. Most notably, in 2023, the World Health Organization (WHO) named her Personality of the Year in acknowledgment of her exceptional contributions to health and nursing care
