Consultant general surgeon working in Rashid hospital and trauma center, part of the Dubai Academic Health Corporation. Besides being a trained general surgeon, I’m a certified trauma and acute care surgeon graduated from McGill university in Montreal Canada.

I’m a skilled trauma surgeon as a trauma team leader in the management of complexly injured trauma patients, acute care surgery and a skilled laparoscopic surgeon.

I gained experience working in the U.K as a specialist registrar as part of the international surgical training program from the Royal college of surgeons of England, where I gained experience in patient care, polished my surgical skills, and learnt how to work in a diverse environment in the NHS with Barts health NHS trust Whipps Cross Hospital London.

On completing my surgery training and obtaining my degree from the Arab Board of Health
specializations, I moved to Canada where I joined McGill university trauma surgery department to further pursue my interests in trauma surgery and acute care surgery where I discovered my love for surgical education and teaching.

On my return to my home country, I was appointed as an associate professor of general surgery at University of Sharjah and Gulf Medical University. Alongside my colleagues in Rashid Hospital, I established the first surgical simulation training in Rashid hospital, and I’m actively involved in the trauma education as part of the polytrauma committee organizing the trauma grand rounds every month and the trauma simulations at MBRU with Simulation – based Advanced Trauma Course (SATC). I’m also an ATLS instructor.

I’m actively involved in the education of medical students, interns, and surgical residents.
My main fields of research and interest are thromboprophylaxis in trauma, non-operative management of injured solid abdominal organs and the development of trauma simulation courses for the further advancement of trauma knowledge and education. I have published in many regional and international medical journals.​
