Dr. Ayman El-Menyar

Dr. Ayman El-Menyar, MBchB, MSc, MRCP, FRCP (Glasgow), FESC, FACC, is a Consultant of Clinical Research, Trauma Surgery, at Hamad General Hospital and an Associate Professor, Clinical Medicine, Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar; posts he has held since 2007. He worked in the field of clinical cardiology between 1993 and 2011.
Dr. El-Menyar received his MBchB from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University (1989). He completed his Internship at Cairo University and his Residency at the National Heart Institute (Cairo). He completed his Master degree in Cardiology in May 1995 and gained Membership to the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2002. Dr. El-Menyar completed a Diploma of Fellowship from the Royal College of Glasgow (FRCP) in 2007.
Dr. El-Menyar has been involved in more than 200 research projects and has been awarded the best publication at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) on four occasions. He has authored and co-authored 175 peer reviewed articles and 60 international abstracts. He is a mentor for medical students, residents and fellows for many research projects. He has been awarded three NPRP grants from Qatar Foundation and two internal grants from HMC. He is a member of many international societies, including the European Heart Rhythm Association, European Society of Cardiology/Acute Cardiac Care, Heart Gulf Association Society, Egyptian Society of Cardiology, Heart Failure Association, European Society of Cardiology, International Society of Heart research (ISHR) (North America section), Society of Clinical Research Association (SOCRA) USA, Association for Inherited Cardiovascular Conditions (AICC) UK and the European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS).
Dr. El-Menyar is also on the editorial board of case reports and journals in vascular medicine and is a members of the peer-reviewer committee for the Danish Council for Strategic Research and the Journal of Emergency, Trauma and Critical Care (JEMTAC). He is also a reviewer for international journals and organizations, including the Chest, Annals Internal Medicine, American Journal of Cardiology, SMJ, Canadian Medical Association Journal, QNRF (UREP), QNRF (SSREP) and the International Journal of Cardiology and Angiology.
