Dr. Hayat Khogali
Senior Public Health Physician and Medical Epidemiologist, Supreme Council of Health, Qatar

Dr. Hayat Khogali is a Senior Public Health Physician and Medical Epidemiologist. She holds an MBBS, MD and Masters in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She has worked with Sudan FMOH as the Head of National Epidemiology and the Zoonotic Disease Program. She has more than seven years of progressive experience in the field of public health with a focus on communicable disease surveillance, outbreak investigation and control, humanitarian emergency and response, implementation of IHR core capacities, MCH, immunization programs, planning, monitoring and evaluation.

Dr. Khogali began her career in the field of public health at the district level; which is the grass roots of the system, and then progressed upward to the State and Federal levels. She has experience establishing surveillance systems at different levels, reporting, analyzing and using different statistical software for epidemiological data analysis. She worked to improve the existing early warning system among the IDPs camps and vulnerable populations during crisis in Sudan. Dr. Khogali believes in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams, which value the coordination and collaboration between different sectors. She has had remarkable success in implementing efficient and effective coordination activities between different parties in regard to IHR, zoonotic disease, one health concepts and integrated surveillance.
