Dr. Saleem Farook
Senior Consultant and Vice Chairman for Emergency Education, Hamad Medical Corporation


Dr. Saleem Farook is a Senior Consultant and Vice Chairman for Emergency Education at Hamad Medical Corporation, a post he has held since March 2013. He has overall responsibility for overseeing graduate medical education and CME programs in Emergency Medicine at HMC.

Dr. Farook undertook higher specialty training in Emergency Medicine in the UK between 1997 and 2003, gaining CCT and Fellowship from the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. He holds Fellowships with the Higher Education Academy and the Academy of Medical Educators in the UK. 

Prior to his appointment at Hamad Medical Corporation, Dr. Farook was a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and simultaneously served as Associate Postgraduate Dean at the North Western Deanery in Manchester, UK. He has held positions as Foundation Programme Director, Faculty for medical students from Manchester Medical University and honorary Associate Clinical Tutor in Clinical Education at Edge Hill University.

In his educational leadership roles, Dr. Farook has successfully collaborated with academic institutions to develop masters programs in teaching, faculty Development and medical leadership. He is an e-learning enthusiast and has implemented a number of significant projects.
