Dr. Khalid Alyafei
Emergency Physician and Program Director of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program and Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar
Dr. Khalid Alyafei, MD, is the Pediatrics Emergency Physician and Program Director of the Pediatrics Emergency Medicine fellowship program. He is also an Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, a position he has held since February 2008.
Dr. Alyafei assists in developing pediatric emergency health education and he assists residents, medical students and fellows during their clinical rotation. He’s actively engaged in providing didactic lectures and workshops in communication and medical professionalism to residents and faculty.
As Dr. Alyafei is actively involved in many research studies. He is also a strong advocate in public education, with special interest in injury prevention, home safety and child abuse. Dr. Alyafei received his MD from Arabian Gulf University’s Medical College, Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain in 1997.
He completed his training in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine at the Children Hospital of Western Ontario, Canada.
Dr. Alyafei is a Board Certified Pediatrician and also certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Alyafei is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. He is also an Examiner of the Arab Board of Emergency Medicine.
