Dr. Mamoun Mobayed

Dr. Mamoun Mobayed is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Director of the Treatment and Rehabilitation Department, Behavioral Healthcare Center in Doha, Qatar. He is also a Professor of Psychology at the Community Collage Qatar. Before moving to Qatar in 2010, Dr. Mobayed was a Psychiatrist with the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and Lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast; a post he held for twenty years.
Dr. Mobayed has published many scientific papers, and ten books (Arabic), and one translation. He is a member of several medical and psychiatric organizations. Dr. Mobayed has a special interest in psychosocial trauma training as has done relief trauma work since 2000 in many conflict and disaster regions, including Northern Ireland, the West Bank, Gaza, Kashmir, Lebanon, China, Tunisia, and more recently with the Syrians in Jordon, Lebanon and Turkey.
Dr. Mobayed is the current President of the Emergency and Trauma section of the Arab Psychiatrist Association. He is the Vice President of the Syrian Association for Mental Health (SAMH) and a member of the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH), and a member of the psychosocial team at the Qatar Red Crescent Society.
