Ms. Kristen Jennifer Mrus
Assistant Executive Director, Academic Health Systems Program, Hamad Medical Corporation

Ms. Kristen Jennifer Mrus is currently the Assistant Executive Director, Academic Health Systems programs at Hamad Medical Corporation. Ms. Mrus joined HMC in 2009 and became a founding member of the team responsible for the development and launch of Qatar’s Academic Health System (AHS) program. She played an important role in the genesis of the program, and in the development of its overarching strategy, governance structures and implementation plans. In her current post, she is closely involved in the oversight of HMC’s role as a partner within the AHS, and provides operational leadership within the AHS Program Office and for several AHS programs and initiatives.

Ms. Mrus relocated to Qatar in 2007, from Canada, as part of the start-up team for the University of Calgary in Qatar, the first international branch campus of the Canadian university. Prior to this, she held positions in administration, project coordination and quality management, across several industries, including post-secondary and oil and gas.

Ms. Mrus is presently a doctoral candidate at the University of Calgary (Alberta, Canada), focusing her research upon healthcare practitioners’ readiness for interprofessional education and practice within the post-licensure setting. She holds a Masters degree in Education (Adult, Community and Higher Education) and Bachelor’s degrees in Education and Management.
