Dr. Alhammadi completed his pediatrics residency training at British Columbia Children Hospital (BCCH) Vancouver, Canada, and his General Academic Pediatrics fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children – Toronto, Canada. He has worked as a general pediatrician at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar since 2012 where he was also appointed as division chief. 

Dr. Alhammadi is in-charge of the new multidisciplinary program in Qatar that cares for children with technology-dependent and medically complex conditions (Pediatrics Complex Care Program) which offers coordinated care that spans the inpatient and outpatient divide.

Dr. Alhammadi’s areas of interests are medical education, faculty, and professional development. He has key roles in leading the pediatrics residency and fellowship programs to ensure the quality of didactic and clinical education in the sites that participate in the program and in implementing changes based on the current accreditation requirements from Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education – International (ACGMEI). 

He is the co-founder of the Professionalism Course and Workshops conducted at HMC. He is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate workshops related to communication skills, interprofessional education and collaboration in multicultural healthcare clinical settings and other faculty development programs and activities locally, nationally, and internationally. 

He has published over 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals. His research interests are related to health promotion in pediatrics, breastfeeding, vaccine, bronchiolitis, and postgraduate medical education.
