Dr. Jamal has been a Consultant in Internal Medicine at Hamad General Hospital, Qatar for nearly three years. He completed his MBBS from Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan, securing five distinctions/honors and a Gold Medal and conducted research in biomedical sciences at Aga Khan University, Pakistan, which produced few publications in the international journals, before moving to the UK for post graduate training. He underwent extensive training in various Acute Medical Specialties at Registrar/Middle Grade level, mainly in North West region of the UK and achieved CCT in Acute Medicine. He worked as a Lead Consultant Acute Medicine in Wigan, UK for more than two years. On top of working as full time medical consultant in a very busy unit, he played a major part in successfully implementing a seven day service in Wigan, which was chosen as a pilot hospital by NHS UK. He also worked as Clinical Director of Medicine and was actively involved in hospital management. 
Dr. Jamal has been a proactive medical consultant at Hamad as well. He has been a key member in organizing Qatar International Medicine Conference in 2016 and 2017 and awarded a shield of appreciation by the department for his contribution. He has displayed multiple posters not only in Qatar but also in other conferences internationally in Europe and UK. He has particular interest in working dynamic and scheduling and his work has been recognized internationally. He is successfully leading the rota for over 40 consultants of the department to make sure all the shifts, including evenings and nights, are adequately covered and the correct number of hours clocked for each of them. He is also lead for CPD activities for the department. He is keen teacher and recently honored as Assistant Professor at Weill Cornel Medicine Qatar.
