
Dr. Khalid Azhar
I am highly motivated and enthusiastic professional with a strong clinical and academic background. I am currently working as consultant physician in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Hamad Medical Corporation.
I graduated from University of Health Sciences, Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore, Pakistan in Year 2000. After completing my basic medical training, I joined higher specialist training program in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics in 2007 at West Midlands Deanery United Kingdom and successfully completed 5 year program in 2012. I was awarded CCT in internal medicine and geriatrics from Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Board UK.
I have been working as consultant physician in medicine and geriatrics since September 2012. I have the honor of working in one of the best institutions in United Kingdom. I have a special interest in neurological diseases including Stroke and Parkinson’s disease. In HMC, I am a key member of consultation team at Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City and leading GIM consultation service at WWRC.
I am a keen teacher and use basic bedside teaching methods to more advanced tools for teaching. I have delivered teaching lectures in Aston University Medical School and University of the Birmingham.
I am appointed as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine Qatar in March 2018 and continue to actively participate in academic activities within our department.
