Consultant Nephrology, HMC
Dr Muftah Othman is a Consultant Nephrologist in HMC and Assisstant Professor at Weil Cornel Medical College in Qatar.
Dr Othman is qualified as MD from Al Arab Medical University in Libya and completed his specialist clinical training in internal Medicine and Nephrology in Libya and United Kingdom.
He obtained the Arab Board certificate in Internal Medicine in 2001. He got MRCP (UK), Master of Nephrology and Fellowship in Nephrology from Sheffield Kidney Institute and Sheffield University, UK.
More recently he got the Clinical Nephropathology Certificate provided by the International Society of Nephrology in collobration with Harvard Medical School.
Dr Othman was elected as a Fellow of Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (UK) in 2013 and he is a fellow of the International Society of Nephrology since 2007.
He has published his research work in many national and international conferences and journals.
Dr Othman has strong interest in postgraduate medical education. He spends considerable time in teaching and mentoring medical students, internal medicine residents and fellows at HMC. He is a clinical examiner for both Arab Board Medicine and MRCP (UK) PACES examination.
