Dr. Omar M. Hamoui  

 
Dr. Omar M. Hamoui has been acting since 2005, as Director of Interventional Cardiology and Coronary Care Unit, Clemenceau Medical Center, affiliated with Johns Hopkins in Beirut, Lebanon. Pursuing his medical education between Lebanon and Indianapolis, USA, Dr. Omar’s experience is enriched with assignments in the medical, academic administrative, committee roles. He has special interest in general and interventional cardiology, thrombosis and antithrombotic agents, stroke prevention, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. He has been involved in more than 20 trials and publications related in the field of interventional cardiology published in regional and international peer reviewed journals. He is active in numerous awareness and prevention initiatives pertaining to public health. He lectures routinely on these topics in local, regional, and in international meetings, as well as large-scale, direct-to-public awareness lectures and TV interviews. He is certified in most routine cardiac procedures such as, PCI, Pericardiocentesis (Echo  &/or Fluoro- guided), Catheter-Based Alcohol Septal Ablation for HOCM, IVUS and FFR, Distal Protection, Angiojet Thrombectomy, Rotational Atherectomy,  Brachytherapy, Transesophageal Echocardiography, Transthoracic  echocardiography, Exercise and Pharmacologic Stress Echo, Transvenous Temporary  Pacemaker Placement, Closure devices and Right Ventricular Myocardial Biopsy, Holter and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring. More recently received TAVR training and performed it on the oldest patient to date in Lebanon in 2015.
