Mr. Amer Abu Al Joud
Director of Nursing – Trauma Services, 
Hamad General Hospital, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC)

Mr. Amer Abu Al Joud is the Director of Nursing for Trauma Services at Hamad General Hospital, HMC.

With more than 18 years of nursing leadership and trauma care experience, Mr. Amer has a strong record of advancing patient safety, staff development, and person-centred care. He joined HMC in 2012 as a Charge Nurse in the Trauma Surgery Unit (TSU), was promoted to Head Nurse in 2015, and later appointed as Director of Nursing for Trauma services in February 2025. He has played a central role in shaping trauma nursing practice at the national level. His earlier experience includes surgical ICU, orthopedic, and neurosurgical nursing roles in Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

 He holds a BSc in Nursing from the University of Jordan and a master’s in international healthcare management from the University of Essex, UK. In May 2025, he completed the Society of Trauma Nurses Leadership Course, enhancing his international leadership profile. Mr. Amer has actively contributed to multiple quality improvement and research projects, including initiatives on trauma rapid response, critical care innovation, and person-centered accreditation. He has presented at national and international forums such as the Qatar Acute Surgery Symposium, World Academic Congress of Emergency Medicine, Trauma Nursing Symposium, and the Qatar Health conferences.

Beyond his operational leadership, a passionate advocate for nursing education, Mr. Amer holds certifications in Advanced Life Support (ALS), Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN), and the Critical Care Foundation Program. He also serves as an instructor for the Trauma Nursing Core Module (TNCM) and mentors nurses in developing critical trauma competencies and evidence-based practice.
