Jennifer Allen,

Jennifer Allen​, is a Lecturer in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences (Physiotherapy) at Qatar University. She holds a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and is currently completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Since 2021, Jennifer has led and taught undergraduate physiotherapy courses that integrate health coaching, motivational interviewing, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to support student development of person-centred, psychologically informed practice.

Her teaching focuses on equipping future physiotherapists with practical communication and behaviour-change skills to address pain, chronic conditions, mental health, and lifestyle-related health concerns across diverse clinical and community settings. She is actively involved in interprofessional education initiatives at Qatar University and emphasizes reflective practice, wellbeing, and therapeutic alliance as core competencies for allied health professionals.

Jennifer’s broader professional background spans clinical practice, education, and humanitarian health systems. She has experience working in Canada, Mexico, Nepal, Kuwait, Iraq, and Qatar. Her scholarly and professional interests include global health, mental health integration in rehabilitation, leadership, and coaching in health professions education. Through her work, she aims to bridge evidence-based psychological approaches with physiotherapy education to enhance quality, compassion, and effectiveness in healthcare delivery.
